The Stragglers

Since the collapse, when the earth’s climate was irrevocably changed, people are forced to live with their environment or die.

Chemical solar blankets were released into the atmosphere as geoengineering a last resort effort to stop massive floods. Thousands of people were stationed in the ice to operate solar shield generators. These gases are the last defense to keep earth from boiling but are poisonous to people and cause vivid hallucinations.

The atmospheres erratic behavior has created dramatic new weather patterns, and in the season of the thaw, people must migrate north as their homes are subsumed into the ice.

We follow two travelers, who are late, they face great dangers, and are haunted by memories of home and whether they can trust their perceptions.

Will they make it? Will they lose their minds in the process?
