My paintings offer unusual perspectives on places, people, and ideas important to me. Turning the world you see around you into paint feels like an act of magic. It feels as though the world you make on your canvas can come to life, as people believed in the 15th century of spontaneous generation, like the painter Peter Paul Rubin. I was amazed by how a single still image could create entire stories, where with one look the ideas layed down brushstroke by brushstroke could come to life.
