The Man Who Orders Things, 2020

It all began. In one time and one place and became many and then became none, and then many again and began again and collapsed or retracted, or shuffled or froze or slowed, or started all over. A new mix, a new beginning. It’s all the same pieces but the path has changed.

I made this story during COVID-19, exploring human perception, belief, the meaning of life and many natures of reality. These subjects often bubbled up in my studies of art, psychology and biology, leading me to try to draw a through line across these subjects that was barely contained in the experience of the character at the center of this story. The Man Who Orders Things is an unintentional inter-dimensional time traveler, who exists everywhere and nowhere. How does he square that? Can he? Read to find out.
