Songs of the Country, 2022-

On the back of your saddle babe, you got the wind in your hair and no worries at your feet. Tell me where we are heading to and what the road has in store for us. There’s a few hundred miles between here and the next station and who knows what we are eating tonight, so I hope you don’t mind the rest of the fresh garden veggies we picked up and bagged up last weekend. I’m with you past the end of the road, no doubt.

I hoped to represent the people and places in a way that was honest, respectful, and reflected my own experiences growing up connected with the natural world. In this Photo Journaling Project, I used a Digital Camera, iPhone Photography, and Traditional Film to capture different areas and people across the Klamath Wilderness and rural America. My poetry reflects on the personal histories of the people who live in these areas, and the natural and built infrastructure that shapes their experience.
